Sensex surges over 400 points in opening trade; financial stocks rally

Equity benchmark Sensex jumped over 400 points in opening trade on Tuesday tracking gains in financial stocks on Reserve Bank support amid tepid cues from global markets. After hitting a high of 32,164.65, the 30-share index pared gains to trade 151.91 points or 0.48 per cent higher at 31,894.99. Similarly, the NSE Nifty advanced 60.05 points, or 0.65 per cent, to 9,342.35.
