No Muharram congregations in Kargil this year as COVID-19 cases continue to rise

The authorities in Ladakh’s Kargil on Monday said no Muharram congregations and processions will be allowed in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation. District Development Commissioner Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary, however, said Imam Baras will remain open and the observance will be restricted to a single person who will recite the 'Noha, Marsia and sermon' which will be relayed for other people through loudspeakers.
